Red Lions secure ‘incentive’

MANILA, Philippines — San Beda unleashed a massive fourth-quarter run as it rallied to beat Emilio Aguinaldo College, 96-78, yesterday and secure a twice-to-beat edge in Group B quarterfinals of NCAA Season 101 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
John Sajonia, Agjanti Miller and Jimuel Reyes each fired nine points in a decisive 27-9 run in the final canto en route to their ninth win in 12 outings, which ensured the Lions the No. 1 spot in the quarters.
There, they would face the winner of the knockout play-in duel between Jose Rizal U (6-7) and EAC, which finished the elimination round with a 4-9 card.
San Beda has one more game left against bitter rival Letran Sunday but the former will still be No. 1 in its bracket regardless of the result on the strength of a superior quotient.
