MANILA, Philippines — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) welcomes the release of Administrative Order No. 38 by President Marcos which highlights the state-run agency’s important role in promoting sports tourism for national development.

The order recognizes how sports can help boost the economy, attract visitors, and strengthen national pride, BCDA said, adding, the new order supports its ongoing efforts to make the Philippines a leading destination for world-class sports events, athlete training, and sports industry growth.

BCDA believes that sports tourism can create more jobs, encourage investment, and bring communities together.

According to the state-run agency, the government’s focus on sports tourism will not only draw international competitions to the country but will also help develop Filipino athletes who can compete globally.
