Aurora seizes solo lead in MPL PH Season 16

MANILA, Philippines — The Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 16 standings has a new leader as Aurora Gaming extended its win streak to four in Week 3 of the regular season.

Opening and closing the weekend, Aurora managed to outlast Twisted Minds and easily dispatched TNC, 2-0, for a solo hold on the top spot with four points and a 4-1 win-loss record.

Twisted Minds salvaged its weekend with a reverse sweep against ONIC Philippines to secure for the second seed, while ONIC Philippines' win against Team Falcons stopped the team from further dropping in the ranking as it sits at third place.

Rounding up the top half of the leaderboard is defending champion Team Liquid Philippines, which swept Smart Omega, 2-0, for fourth place.

With the Barangay losing their lone match over the weekend, Smart Omega dropped from third to fifth place with a 2-3 standing at two points. Close behind are TNC and AP Bren, which saw mixed results over the weekend, securing two points each 2-3, with the Phoenix Army inching above AP Bren in game difference.

At last place is Team Falcons, which suffered its fifth consecutive defeat this season to sit at eighth place with a 1-5 slate.

The regular season continues Friday, September 12, with Aurora versus AP Bren at 5 p.m., followed by ONIC Philippines versus Smart Omega at 7:30 p.m.
