Team Stallions misses podium in Crossfire EWC

MANILA, Philippines — Team Stallions's valiant effort saw the team finish the Crossfire event at the Esports World Cup just shy of the podium, falling to China's Evolution Power in the bronze medal match.
The country's runner-up in the CrossFire Stars Philippines Masters, the roster formerly under the flag of UBECmaniacGT, started the tournament strong as it survived Navi, 2-1.
Though securing the opening match against China's AG.AL, Team Stallions would fall to the decider's match-up for Group D, setting up a rematch with Navi.
The all-Filipino squad managed to repeat against the Brazilians, 2-1, to secure a place in the playoffs, where it breezed through by securing a 2-0 sweep against Brazil's top squad, Al Qadsiah, to proceed to the semifinals.
But the run would come to an end as Team Stallions came face to face with the Asian Champions League winner, China's BaiSha Gaming, which handed Team Stallions a 0-2 defeat to drop to the battle for bronze.
Facing yet another Chinese team, Team Stallions managed to take the lead in both maps against Evolution Power, but would eventually suffer yet another 0-2 defeat to end the tournament in fourth place.
Meanwhile, fellow Filipino team and CrossFire Stars Philippines Masters champion EVOS suffered an early exit, dropping its first two matches during the group stages.
With the fourth-place finish, Team Stallions took home $130,000 (approximately P7.34 million) of the $2-million dollar prize pool.
