MANILA, Philippines — Half of the eight teams vying for the last four quarterfinal slots face off with Farm Fresh tackling Capital1 and Chery Tiggo battling Galeries Tower today in the PVL on Tour’s knockout round at the Dasmariñas Arena in Cavite.

The Foxies, the Pool A No. 3 team with a 3-2 record, tangle with the Solar Spikers, winless in five Pool B matches, at 4 p.m. while the Crossovers, No. 3 in Pool B with a 3-2 mark, clash with the Highrisers, 0-5 and last in Pool A, at 6:30 p.m. with the winners advancing to the quarters.

The other knockout round pairings pit Pool A No. 4 Petro Gazz with Pool B No. 5 Akari and Pool B No. 4 ZUS Thunderbelles with Pool A No. 5 Choco Mucho slated Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.

Farm Fresh will be the team to watch after a solid showing in the pool stage where it caught a pair of big fishes in Petro Gazz, the reigning All-Filipino Conference champion, and perennial contender Choco Mucho.

And it was mostly because of the arrival of the tall and battle-scarred Fil-Am setter in Alohi Robins-Hardy, who has been keeping the Foxies’ relentless attack humming.

Also out on a mission is Chery Tiggo, which was a win away from claiming an outright quarters ticket but stumbled with two straight heartbreaking defeats that denied it of that chance.

And now the Crossovers will have to do it the hard way.
