MANILA, Philippines —Detained alleged sex offender Apollo Quiboloy is facing a complaint for copyright infringement before a Pasig City court.

Omar Manzano, who is a rapper, filed the case against Quiboloy on Monday.

Manzano said his song “K&B” was used as a campaign jingle for Quiboloy without his permission.

Manzano’s lawyer Jeanne Castillo Anarna said the song was publicly used, reproduced and altered without prior consent from the rapper.

Also charged was Marlon Rosete, president of the Quiboloy-owned Sonshine Media Network International.

Israelito Torreon, counsel for Quiboloy, brushed off the case, saying the pastor had no knowledge in the alleged unauthorized use of the song.

“He did not even know the details of the program. He is in jail and has no television inside. He has no knowledge of what his supporters are airing,” Torreon said.
