Ochoa new PSA president
MANILA, Philippines — Francis T. J. Ochoa of the Inquirer has been elected president of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA), the country’s oldest media organization.
Ochoa takes over from Nelson Beltran of The STAR, whose term saw the PSA soar to greater heights.
Jasmine Payo of Rappler was named vice president and Ramon Bonilla of Manila Bulletin secretary-general. The other officers are Gerry Ramos of Spin.ph (treasurer), Ramil Cruz of Abante Tonite (auditor) and Emil Noguera of Manila Times (assistant secretary).
Beltran will assume the post of chairman of the board, which will include the sports editors from other news outlets.
