MANILA, Philippines — Perpetual Help is returning to NCAA football under the guidance of coach Adrian Bequillo, currently AFC-B licensed with international coaching experience in Japan and Vietnam.
Bequillo, who played for the Altas in 2011 and 2012 under coach Miguel Cajes, is hopeful of a fighting showing as the Altas Booters return from a six-year leave of absence.
“Our players are from the grassroots program, going through tryouts to form a competitive team. What I can promise is that we will give a good fight. We are not only preparing for this season, of course, but also for the upcoming NCAA seasons,” said Bequillo.
Bequillo previously led the University of Perpetual Help System Jonelta-Biñan Football Team and won the women’s and boys’ futsal titles at NCAA South in 2018. And it will be remembered that the Perpetual Altas football team won the NCAA championship in 1990 under coach Rey Salonga and in 1998 under Cajes.
