MANILA, Philippines — A top flight fit for a king.

On his way home and to a grand homecoming, Carlos Yulo basked in well-deserved first-class seats in Team Philippines’ long-haul flight from Paris, France.

It’s all smiles – and all proud hearts – for Yulo, now being dubbed as King Carlos, in a cozy journey with fellow Olympians, Philippine officials and his girlfriend Chloe San Jose as they brace for a warm welcome from millions of Filipinos back home.

Yulo himself shared the photo on his official social media account yesterday in the middle of their long flight with layovers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Thailand.

And he more than deserved it all after carrying the Philippines to its best showing in 100 years of Olympic participation.

With the Filipinos rallying behind, Yulo danced and tumbled his way to a double-gold medal harvest in the Paris Olympics, a milestone no Filipino has ever witnessed or achieved in history.

First, by ruling his pet event floor exercise followed by a quick turnaround to also reign supreme in the vault of the men’s artistic gymnastics.

Yulo’s feat catapulted him to being one of the greatest Filipino athletes ever – if he is not already – as the country’s only twin-gold Olympic medalist, in a single edition at that.

He celebrated that monumental victory at the French capital in front of an array of audience from all parts of the world.

And soon with his kababayans, including his family, childhood and lifelong friends who have become part of his riveting journey before ascending to the Olympic throne.
