Lakewood bets shine in Sta. Lucia Tour

MANILA, Philippines — Don Jerome Empania and Jose Ravinar Austria captured the overall leg title as the Lakewood Golf and Country Club made a triumphant return in the Davao leg of the Sta. Lucia Golf Tour last Friday. 

Empania and Austria survived the challenge of the Eagle Ridge father-and-son tandem of Sherwin and Steven Ferrer with a 121 total from 60 points in the scramble format at Rancho Palos Verdes and 61 in best-ball  to win by two points. 

A 1-2 finish by Eduardo Aberin-Rodel Matias and Tomas Joson IV-Dennis Salazar in Class B plus a runner-up showing by Von Vernon Vargas-Oscar Galio in Class A completed the rousing start for the defending Club of the Year champion Lakewood.
