Akari notches 6th straight win

MANILA, Philippines — Akari rode on Grethcel Soltones’ late heroics as it repulsed a stubborn Galeries Tower, 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 22-25, 18-16, to stay unscathed and at the helm in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena.

American Oluoma Okaro went on a spiking spree with a match-high 32 points while Ivy Lacsina scattered 20 hits but it was Soltones who came through in the clutch as she finished with 13 points, most of them in the fifth and deciding set.
