MANILA, Philippines —  Dark League Studios is putting up a total cash pot of P1.6 million for the forthcoming Estudyante Esports: The National Championships, increasing excitement for the big event featuring four titles to be disputed by various school teams from across the country.

“The National Championship is going to take student and youth esports to the next level. Imagine school varsity teams from all over the Philippines competing in a nationwide esports showdown. It’s going to be epic,” said DLS chief executive officer AC Valdenor.

“But what really makes this program special is how it brings schools together. It’s not just about the competition, it’s about giving every school, no matter how big or small, a chance to shine on a national esports stage,” Valdenor added.

Teams from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are all gearing up for shots at the crowns and cash prizes at stake in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Valorant, League of Legends and Tekken 8.

A cool pot of P500,000 each will be disputed in MLBB, Valorant and League of Legends and P100,000 in Tekken8 in this championships with separate eliminations in Luzon, National Capital Region, Visayas and Mindanao culminating in onsite national finals in September.

Nationwide registration is ongoing and will run until July 16. Schools and campus esports organizations that wish to become affiliated with Estudyante Esports may inquire via [email protected] or via the Estudyante Esports Facebook account.

Holding the inaugural Estudyante Esports: The National Championships is part of Dark League Studios’ programs and vision to redefine the role of esports within academia aimed at elevating awareness, appreciation and responsible engagement with esports as a campus activity.
