Athletics hostilities begin

MANILA, Philippines — The best and brightest in Philippine track and field including Olympic hopefuls John Cabang Tolentino, Lauren Hoffman, Robyn Brown, Eric Cray and Janry Ubas descend at the PhilSports oval in Pasig for the ICTSI Philippine Athletics Championships unfurling today.

Ubas will be the first to plunge into action as he competes in the men’s long jump starting at 7 a.m. in the five-day meet staking vital qualification points to the Paris Games.

Other notables seeing action are reigning Asian champion Robyn Brown, Kristina Knott, William Morrison, Angel Frank and Victoria Bossong among others.
