MANILA, Philippines — Yet to drop a single match in a stellar second-round campaign including wins over the co-leaders, red-hot National U enjoys sole control of its fate and wants no let-up in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs are tied with the reigning champion La Salle and Santo Tomas at 10-2 but hold an inside track to the No. 1 seed and a twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four due to superior points after big wins over both teams as part of their five-game winning streak.

Either La Salle and Santo Tomas will absorb a third loss when they clash next week, giving NU – the Season 84 champion and Season 85 runner-up – a sure ride to a win-once bonus as long as it takes care of its last two assignments.

And that starts against the also-ran Adamson (3-9) at 4 p.m. today as the tournament enters the homestretch at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
