Tuazon, Perez champs in HERO Golf Cup
MANILA, Philippines — Jingy Tuazon emerged as overall champion while Ma. Theresa Perez won the ladies championship in the recent seventh HERO Golf Cup at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club in Quezon City.
The HERO Foundation, Inc. successfully held the event, dubbed 7th HERO Golf Cup 2024: A Golf Tournament for the Education of the Children of our Fallen Soldiers, with over 100 golfers participating.
The ceremonial tee-off was graced by HERO board of trustee Michael Tan, Rocky Nazareno, who represented another HERO board of trustee Dr. Emilio Yap III, Aubrey Carlson, spouse of the US Ambassador to the Philippines, Col. Ariel Querubin and Deputy Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Charlton Gaerlan PN, representing the AFP Chief of Staff. The event was also witnessed by HERO Foundation executive director MGen Victor Bayani AFP (Ret), and HERO board of trustee Aniceto Bisnar Jr.
The net proceeds of the tournament will be utilized to fund the educational needs of orphaned children and dependent siblings of soldiers who were permanently incapacitated or killed in action or during disaster relief operations.
Founded in 1988, HERO (Help Educate and Rear Orphans) Foundation, Inc., is the largest partner of the Armed Forces of the Philippines that is committed to helping orphans of Filipino soldiers finish school. Currently, HERO Foundation is supporting 232 scholars nationwide and has helped a total of 2,733 scholars since it started.
