MANILA, Philippines – Filipina mixed martial artist Denice Zamboanga will finally get her shot at the ONE women’s atomweight world championship when she faces former training partner Stamp Fairtex at ONE 167.

ONE 167 will be held in Bangkok on June 8, according to ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Zamboanga and Fairtex are coming off win streaks and would figure in a colossal clash.

Following two straight losses, Zamboanga won her previous two bouts.

She edged China’s Lin Heqin via split decision in December 2022,and Brazil’s Julie Mezabarba via unanimous decision in April last year.

Fairtex, on the other hand, won four straight fights against Malaysia’s Jihin Radzuan, Thailand’s Anna Jaroonsak, the United States’ Alyse Anderson and South Korea’s Ham Seo Hee.

Her wins against Anderson and Ham last year came via knockout.

Zamboanga and Fairtex were originally set to meet at ONE 166 but the bout not push through.

Also in the card is ONE featherweight muay thai world champion Tawanchai’s title defense against Jo Nattawut.

Meanwhile, Filipino Jeremy Pacatiw will be making his debut fight under Lions Nation MMA when he faces China’s Wang Shuo. They will be clashing on April 6 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok at ONE Fight Night 21: Eersel vs. Nicolas.

Pacatiw is coming off a second round submission win over Tial Thang back in 2022.

Shuo, meanwhile, will go back to the ONE ring for the first time in more than two years. His last bout was a loss against Japan’s Tatsumitsu Wada in January 2022.

The main event of the card will be between Suriname’s Regian Eersel and France’s Alexis Nicolas, where the former will defend his lightweight kickboxing world championship against the latter.
