MANILA, Philippines -- Three teams headed by San Sebastian College seek to stay on top as they face off separate foes in Saturday’s resumption of NCAA Season 99 junior basketball at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

Unbeaten in two starts, the Staglets face off with possibly their toughest rivals to date as they clash with the angry, menacing Letran Squires, the defending champions, in their 10 a.m. contest.

Letran is expected to vent its ire on SSC-R after succumbing to San Beda, 88-76, Friday that sent the reigning titlist crashing into a 1-1 record.

Also seeking a third win in a row and to stay at the helm are University of Perpetual Help and Mapua, which tangle with La Salle Greenhills-College of St. Benilde at 12 p.m. and Emilio Aguinaldo College at 4:30 p.m., respectively.

The Red Robins emerged victorious in their first two games at the expense of the Arellano U Pages, 89-75, and the Junior Blazers, 89-73, while the Junior Altas walloped the Lyceum of the Philippines University Junior Pirates, 89-75, and the Brigadiers, 93-85, to seize a piece of the top spot.

LPU (0-2) and Jose Rizal U (0-2), a team that set new records in rebounding after plucking 73 caroms, 23 from Martin Pineda and 18 from Paul Enal, in a 94-86 loss to AU Friday, collide at 8 a.m.

Completing the heavy five-game offering is the 1:30 p.m. duel between AU (1-1) and San Beda (1-1).
