TNT's Erram not rushing return for next PBA conference
MANILA, Philippines -- TNT big man Poy Erram bared that he does not expect to immediately play in the upcoming PBA Philippine Cup.
Erram on Thursday said that he is “70% there,” but he believes he is not yet healthy enough to play in the eliminations of the upcoming All-Filipino conference.
“So far, I am at 70%. But I am not rushing things because I don’t want to reinjure myself,” the 6-foot-7 center told Philstar.com at the sidelines of the limited exhibition by Marclen Ricafort-Chulani in Makati City.
“If I get reinjured, it is like the time I spent recovering will be wasted, so I will not rush it. I do not want to spend the time I did just because I rushed things,” he added.
Last year, Erram sustained an injury that forced him to miss the recently concluded PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
He was earlier reported to miss six to eight months after going under the knife back in August.
“I will not be able to play at the start of the season. Maybe if we get a chance to enter the playoffs or we make the semis, maybe,” the former Ateneo Blue Eagle said.
“So, we will take things slow and we’ll see what could happen in the coming months.”
The PBA Philippine Cup will open on February 28.
