MANILA, Philippines -- Filipino mixed martial artist Danny Kingad will be returning to the ONE Circle as he faces Japanese Yuya Wakamatsu in the undercard of ONE 165: Rodtang vs. Takeru in Tokyo next year.

The fight will be held on January 28 next year at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

Kingad and Wakamatsu first faced off back in September 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the former won via unanimous decision.

Now, the two will meet again, this time on Wakamatsu's home turf.

“It has been a long time since we fought each other, and I am excited to test my skills once again against Yuya,” Kingad said in Filipino.

The Filipino flyweight will try to build a winning streak after a triumphant return to ONE FC back in February.

Kingad won over Indonesia’s Eko Saputra via unanimous decision.

In ONE FC, Kingad has an 11-3 win-loss record.

ONE 165 will be headlined by ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who will be facing K-1 World Champion Takeru Segawa.

Former ONE lightweight champion Shinya Aoki will also face American Sage Northcutt, while top strawweight contenders Hiroba Minowa and Gustavo Balart will also battle it out.

Bokang Masunyane will likewise clash against Keito Yamakita in a strawweight bout, while Japanese atomweight stars Itsuki Hirata and Ayaka Miura will collide.
