Lhuillier, Unified Tennis Philippines back Philta
MANILA, Philippines — Long-time tennis sports patron Jean Henri Lhuillier congratulated newly elected Philippine Tennis Association president and Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez.
Lhuillier was one of the 13 newly elected members of the board of trustees who participated in the recent PHILTA elections facilitated by the Philippine Olympic Committee.
“I proceeded to participating in the PHILTA presidential elections despite the odds stacked against me as more than the winning the presidency, my main goal was for unity among the tennis community and help the PHILTA’s suspension from ITF and POC be lifted, and this election will help achieve that,” said Lhuillier.
Lhuillier also vowed to have the Unified Tennis Philippines, which he heads as president, will align with PHILTA as long as they see it being after the welfare of all stakeholders of the country.
“The plan is for UTP to be a supporter of PHILTA and we will have a dialogue with the new PHILTA Board on how to move forward. I’m just happy that we are now moving in the right direction for the betterment of tennis development in the Philippines,” he added.
