MANILA, Philippines — F2 Logistics shoots for an outright semifinal berth as it tackles Army Black Mamba while PLDT tries to close in on a semis ticket when it meets Cignal today in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Center.

The Cargo Movers, at joint No. 2 with the Petro Gazz Angels with 5-2 records, battle the Lady Troopers (0-6) at 4 p.m. with a win ensuring them a spot to the best-of-three semis.

The Creamline Cool Smashers (6-1) and the Angels have made it to the next round regardless of the results of their remaining games.

For the High Speed Hitters, a win over the HD Spikers (2-4) in their 6:30 p.m. duel will push them a step closer from earning a semis ticket.

PLDT squares off with Choco Mucho (2-5) in the former’s final elimination round game on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena.

Kianna Dy is expected to carry the fight again for F2 after stepping up big with a 23-point masterpiece in a 25-23, 25-19, 13-25, 25-22 elimination of Choco Mucho last Tuesday.

It was the power-spiking Dy who came through when Myla Pablo and Ara Galang suffered cramps and missed the final set.

Galang got the go-signal to return to play, but not Pablo.

“Myla will be resting out the game just for precaution. Taking it day to day,” F2 coach Regine Diego said.
