Corporate Cup tees off today

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Corporate Cup gets underway today and marks the return of the much awaited golf tournament that was temporarily shelved due to the pandemic.

A total of 50 teams represented by more than 200 players have registered for the Corporate Cup, all eager to showcase their skills as well as to reconnect and have fun in the three-day event slated at the Camp John Hay Golf Club beginning today.

The field will be divided into six divisions: Groups I to IV and Seniors I and II. Team classification will be based on the average of the three January handicap indices of the team. No team will be allowed to field more than one player with handicap index of 5.0.

Local Baguio teams, including regular Group 1 winner and host Camp John Hay Golf Club and 2020 Seniors 1 champion Pugo Adventure are expected to be back and defend their titles.

CJHGC general manager Jude Eustaquio wanted to have more teams but had to put a limit into the number to adhere to the health and safety protocols set by Baguio City and the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF).
