MANILA, Philippines — Rookie Miko Eala continued to impress as Penn State University got a win run going with a sweep of Nebraska in the US NCAA men’s tennis tournament yesterday.
Inspired by the visit of his parents and sister Alex over the weekend, Miko registered win No. 7 in singles’ play after drubbing Brandon Perez, 6-2, 6-3.
Miko, who now has a 7-4 record in US NCAA, partnered with senior Sam Bossem in their 7-5 doubles’ victory as the Nittany Lions scored a second straight win to improve to 5-6 in the Big Ten Conference.
PSU trounced Iowa the other day to get back on track after two straight losses.
Miko and PSU will host powerhouse Ohio State University next week for a chance to nab a third win in a row.
