Six home teams in Predator final

Joey Villar - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Six local teams will carry the fight for the Philippines when it hosts the virtual Asia-Pacific Predator Grand Final on April 6 to 11.

ArkAngel Esports, TroubleMaku and Gamers Lounge will compete in the Players Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) while TNC Predator, Neon Sports and Reckoning Esports will see action in Dota 2.

A total purse worth $400,000 (P19 million) will be pooled among qualifiers to the four sub-tournaments – two for Dota 2 and two for PUBG. The winners will also receive APAC Predator League Shield and Acer Predator products.

It will be a much-anticipated tournament after last year’s edition was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And despite the recent spike in new COVID-19 cases, organizers will push through with the event as planned via online.

TNC Predator is one of the teams to watch though it opted to keep its all-Filipino roster intact, headed by Marvin “Boomy” Rushton and Jun “Bok” Kanehara.

Neon Sports, for its part, will have John Anthony “Natsumi” Vargas, Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer and Robin “Skem” Ong.

Matches will be broadcasted on Acer Predator’s Facebook and Twitch channels.
