MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Olympic Committee election committee has denied the disqualification petitions against incumbent president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and several officials running under his ticket.
Atty. Teodoro Kalaw, who chairs the poll body, released the decision Saturday night, dismissing the petitions for lack of merit.
“All official protests filed against candidates (Tom) Carrasco, (Abraham) Tolentino, (Cynthia) Carrion-Norton, (Dr. Raul) Canlas and (Dave) Carter are denied in their entirety for lack of merit,” said the election committee. “Accordingly, the Certified List of Candidates for the 2020 POC regular term elections as issued last Oct. 31, 2020 is now deemed final.”
