MANILA, Philippines — Philippine sports took a heavy hit as the coronavirus pandemic claimed the life of one of its own, bowling official and patron Alexander Lim.
Lim, treasurer of the Philippine Bowling Federation and chairman of Team Prima, which sponsors athletes in bowling, badminton, cycling and triathlon, tested positive and lost the battle with COVID-19 Tuesday night.
Lim, 62, felt feverish last March 7 and had subsequent checkups last March 11 and 13 before being admitted on the 15th. He was tested for the virus and after nine days, the result came out positive.
Athletes and friends expressed grief over Lim’s passing and said thanks for his valuable contributions.
