Roger Mayweather, 58

MANILA, Philippines — Roger Mayweather, former world champion, renowned boxing trainer and uncle of retired superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr., died Tuesday after a long battle with illness. He was 58.

Roger’s death came just days after the former girlfriend of Floyd Jr., Josie Harris, was found dead in her parked vehicle in Valencia, California.

Floyd Jr., who retired from boxing with a perfect record of 50-0, has three children with Harris.

Roger, who won world titles at light-welterweight and welterweight in a 20-year boxing career, had a ring record of 59-13.
