MANILA, Philippines — After the successful opening of the National Cockers Alliance circuit derby comes the NCA World Championship preliminary four-cock derby on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The hosts of the coming event are Gov. Ito Ynares Jr., Rep. Paul Dy, Rep. Joseph Panganiban, Albert Dichavez and The Firefly Group.
The much anticipated NCA World Championship, considered as the Olympics of cockfighting, will showcase the aces of the breeder cockers all over the country.
The preliminary four-cock derby will be followed by the final five-cock derby on Jan. 16 where the special Senate President Tito Sotto trophy will be awarded to the champion.
In the recent opening of the NCA derby season, the champions were PL2 Malainin and Coliseo de Manila with 4 1/2 points, Highlander BST, Paniqui Max March 12 5 cock, Binangonan Arayat, Sagupaan Complexor 3000/B-50, Global Live Pasay, AEJ Sagupaan Global Live, Rancho Mineros, Macking, WSC-1 Araneta Jan 20-26 with four points and MSK Binangonan with 3 1/2 points.
The next NCA derby will be on Jan. 28 at the Ynares Sports Arena to be hosted by Gov. Claude Bautista, Jun Bacolod, Dante Eslabon and Raymond Palomares.
The NCA also announced it is continuing its grand scholarship program at UP Los Baños for those taking up courses in Veterenary Medicine and Agriculture Major in Poultry Science.
