MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine men’s and women’s floorball teams shoot for crucial bounce-back wins today against powerhouse Singapore to keep their gold medal hopes alive in the 30th SEA Games at the UP CHK Gym in Diliman, Quezon City.

After absorbing losses against Thailand last Tuesday, the Nationals are counting on a much-needed one-day breather when they face  the reigning SEAG champions.

The men’s team goes up against Singapore at      7 p.m with the women’s squad raising the curtain at 1 p.m.

Bannered by Aristeo Perol II, Lucas Oijvall and Christian Schoultze, the Filipino bets pulled off a dramatic 5-4 escape act against Indonesia earlier this week. But they could not sustain the momentum in a 14-4 beating against Thailand last Tuesday.

The Filipinas, meanwhile, fell short against the Thais with a gallant 6-3 loss to also slide at 1-1 after an emphatic 8-1 opening-day win against the Indons.

Against the formidable Singaporeans, coach Noel Johansson will bank on forwards Michelle Cruz, Michelle Lindahl and Roxanne Ruiz as captain Jade Rivera remains questionable after sustaining an ankle injury against Thailand.
