MANILA,Philippines — Diliman College bids to become the first UCBL back-to-back champion while Olivarez College hopes a third time’s a charm.
Both are expected to come out strong as they dispute the crucial head start in their PG Flex Linoleum-UCBL best-of-three finals at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.
The Diliman Blue Dragons, however, appear to be holding all the aces, having beaten the Sea Lions in last year’s finals, 2-1, and enjoying a 6-1 advantage in their personal duel since the birth of the league four years ago.
They took the No. 1 seed in the semis after finishing with a 9-1 card – their only defeat coming at the hands of Technological Institute of the Philippines.
The Dragons topped the Sea Lions, 72-66, in the elims.
Centro Escolar University and University of Batangas clash at 12 p.m. in a duel for third spot.
