Ahanmisi to play one more season

MANILA, Philippines – There’s no way to go but stay and get ready for next season for sniper Jerrick Ahanmisi after Adamson’s unexpected early exit in the 82nd UAAP men’s basketball tournament.

The Falcons were kicked out of the Final Four for the first time in four years under coach Franz Pumaren after a tough 63-60 loss to FEU Wednesday.

It’s a forgettable campaign for regular Final Four contender Adamson but Ahanmisi vows to make all these things right next season following a decision to forego plan to move up to the pros.

“I’m playing my final year and whatever the outcome is, I’m just gonna give it my all next year,” said Ahanmisi, brother of PBA cager Maverick.

Being the veteran and leader of the Falcons, the Fil-Nigerian three-point specialist took responsibility for their lackluster campaign.

“It’s just that I didn’t perform as well as I was supposed to. It cost us, as you guys saw in the losses that we had,” said the six-foot guard who struggled with an average of 14.2 points on 36-percent clip this season after a Mythical Five selection last year. 

At 4-8, they’re out of the race with two games left. But the Falcons vow to make good on those games versus the Santo Tomas Tigers and the La Salle Archers.
