Team Rancheros tops Sta. Monica derby

MANILA, Philippines — After seven derbies, Team Rancheros bested 29 other teams that competed in the first leg of the Sta. Monica Stag Circuit, garnering 28.5 points out of a possible 42 points.

Team Rancheros, composed of Hector Magpantay, Jun Ferrer, Pingoy Lagumbay and Ed Ladores, was crowned Stag Fighter of the Year in ceremonies held last Sunday.

Second placer was Team Akiboy owned by Atty. Gildo Capuchino with a score of 26.5 points. The entry of Jong Daed Salto, Basagulero, was third with 25.5 points.

Meanwhile, the second leg consisting of five 6-stag derbies kicks off this Saturday at the air-conditioned Sta. Monica Cockpit with 30 entries competing for top honors.
