LGBA ‘Breeder’ race heats up
MANILA, Philippines – The 2019 Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association (LGBA) Breeder of the Year race heats up at the Pasay City Cockpit as it enters the third and final leg on Oct. 25 and 28.
Participants gird up on Friday’s 3-stag elims supported by Sagupaan Superfeeds and Complexor 3000. The 5-stag grand finals comes next on Monday.
Newcomer Francis Guevarra (JJ Airbender Migs, (12 points) currently leads the ‘Breeder’ race after topping the LGBA 7-stag derby last Monday, with co-champion Honey Yu (Princess Bernice).
First-leg champion Ronald Barandino (Jan. 10 Pasay 4-Cock RB Basilan), Limuel Reyes (RLJ Tymolox) and Rick Tamboong (RTT) have 11 points each, followed by Rey Tolentino (RMT GF 2) with 10.5 points and Hector Magpantay (HGM, 10 points).
Also within striking distance: are Jun Sevilla, Larry Wacnang, Gerry Escalona, Nick Crisostomo, Ricky Magtuto, Arnold dela Cruz, Jeffrey and Aylwyn Sy, Allan Cantal, Rey Liwanag, Anthony Lim, Boy Tanyag, lawyer Raul Gorospe, Robert del Rosario, Toto Gregore, Dennis Lumpay, Carlos Tumpalan, Raymond Velayo, Sonny Bello, Del Mendoza, Jervy Maglunob and Noel Cosico.
“It’s still anybody’s race. The participants have to go through the difficult third leg, which is an 8-stag derby,” said LGBA president Nick Crisostomo.
