MANILA, Philippines — San Beda guns for win No. 14 in a bid to inch closer to an elimination round sweep while Perpetual Help fights for dear life as the two collide today in the 95th NCAA basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Claiming win No. 13 on a 91-76 drubbing of the SSC Stags Tuesday, the Lions hope to get going in chase of an elims sweep and its reward of an outright finals entry.

But San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez said their immediate goal is a sure top two finish for a twice-to-beat bonus in the Final Four.

“We’re more focused on winning as many games as we can and end up somewhere in the top two,” said Fernandez.

Fernandez also likes to talk more on his young batch of players improving each game.

“I have here a very young team still in the learning process and improving every day,” he said.
