MANILA, Philippines – This Saturday, the UAAP is set to hold its 8th annual Streetdance Competition at the Araneta Coliseum where the premier collegiate league’s best exponents of hip-hop, breakdance and bodypopping compete for bragging rights and the pleasure of entertaining its loyal fans.
Held every season as an exhibition between competitive sports action, the Streetdance Competition features dance-offs in the collegiate (seniors) and high school (juniors) divisions.
This year, defending seniors champion Street Alliance from FEU looks to go back-to-back while the UST high school team Galvanize hopes to do a repeat of their Season 80 winning performance in the juniors divison.
It was FEU’s first streetdance crown ever in Season 80, dethroning La Salle and relegating UP to second runner-up.
DLSU and UP are the most decorated schools in the competition with 3 championships each. While UST Galvanize was the inaugural juniors champion.
A highlight of the competition will be the first ever UAAP-JBL Freestyle Showdown, where participants from each UAAP school will attempt out-battle each other on the dance floor.
The competition starts at 2 p.m.

(Seniors): Adamson Cast, NU Underdawgz, FEU Street Alliance, The Company of Ateneo Dancers, The La Salle Dance Club, UST Prime, UP Street Dance Club, UE Street Warriors
(Juniors): Adamson “Cauldron Dance Company, NU-Nazareth School Underdawgz, FEU’s Baby Tamaraws Dance Company, De La Salle Zobel’s Dance Company, UST Galvanize, UPIS BLK, UE Street Varsity Team.
