Big 6-cock derby up at Pasay today
MANILA, Philippines — The Pasay City Cockpit holds today the Fa Fa Fa Big Event 6-Cock Derby, featuring a rare gathering of world cockfight champions and more than 100 fights.
Invited by host Femie Medina of Rizal are recent champions Gov. Claude Bautista and American Chris Copas (World Slasher Cup 1), cockfight idol Patrick Antonio (World Pitmasters Cup) and Raffy Zaide (NCA World Championship).
Gov. Bautista will field Copas’ Bowling Green roundheads, also being primed for the upcoming WSC 2 (May 27-June 2) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Supported by Sagupaan Superfeeds and Complexor 3000, the one-day battle also drew derby heavyweights Charlie “Atong” Ang, Gerry Ramos, Mayor Nene Aguilar, Arman Santos, fomer Gov. Ito Ynares, Firefly 13 group, Richard Perez, Rodolfo Pineda, Mayor Max Roxas, Cholo Violago, Ador Pleyto, Ricky Magtuto and JR Tolentino.
Two more cockfests will cap PCC’s busy schedule this month – LGBA 7-Bullstag Derby finals (Mar. 25) and Be My Guest 5-Cock Derby (Mar.29).
So far, 10 of 81 entries posted three wins each in the LGBA derby.
