MANILA, Philppines – The Dallas Mavericks traded Harrison Barnes to the Sacramento Kings while he was still on the court during a Mavs game against the Hornets in Charlotte.
Understandably, a number of NBA fans were a bit thrown off. But maybe none more so than the King himself, LeBron James.
The three-time NBA champion took to Instagram and expressed his distaste for how the trade went down.
James posted in-game footage on his personal Instagram showing Barnes on the bench having '"zero idea" that he had been traded for the Grizzlies' Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph.
"So let me guess, this is cool cause they had to do what was best for the franchise right????" James wrote.
"I just want this narrative to start to get real/change and not when a player wants to be traded or leaves a franchise that he's a selfish/ungrateful player but when they trade you, release, waive, cut etc etc it's best for them!" he continued.
The comments come amid a turbulent week for James and the Lakers following the Anthony Davis deal fallout and a 42-point drubbing at the hands of the shorthanded Pacers.
