NLEX's Kevin Alas to undergo surgery for tearing ACL anew
MANILA, Philippines – Kevin Alas finds himself back at square one.
Just five games into his return from a torn ACL he suffered back in 2018, the NLEX guard once again sustained the same injury in the Road Warriors' clash against the Meralco Bolts, Saturday.
Alas came down late in the fourth quarter, landing hard on his right leg after going for a rebound. He was able to shoot a couple of free throws after the fall, but eventually went to the bench and sat out the rest of the game.
The Road Warriors' worst fears came into reality soon, after doctors confirmed that Alas had indeed torn the same ACL he had just finished recovering from. NLEX will have to make do without his services again for at least six months.
Alas is set to undergo surgery soon and will also be underoing an MRI today to find out the extent of his injury, per the Road Warriors' official Twitter account.
