MANILA, Philippines – For his explosive all-around performance in the Ateneo Blue Eagles' UAAP title-clinching effort, Thirdy Ravena has been named Finals MVP in their series with the UP Fighting Maroons.

The third-year Blue Eagle posted impressive averages of 29.5 points, 8 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.5 steals in the series, which Ateneo capped with a dominant 99-81 victory Wednesday for their second straight title.

Ravena erupted with a career-high 38 points in leading the Eagles past the Maroons in the second and final game of the series.

Prior to that, the Ateneo guard flirted with a triple-double (21 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists) in Game One last Saturday.

Incidentally, Ravena was disqualified from getting an individual following his suspension for throwing a close fist at UP’s Paul Desiderio during their eliminations encounter last October.
