MANILA, Philippines — A three-peat from 2006 to 2008, five-peat from 2010-2014 and another triple crown from 2016-2018.

San Beda kept its dynastic reign in completing a two-game sweep of Lyceum of the Philippines U in the NCAA Finals Monday, and is looking forward to next season even on the departure of key players Robert Bolick, Javee Mocon, and possibly Donald Tankoua.

Moments after beating CJ Perez and the Pirates, 71-56, to complete another successful title run, the Lions bid goodbye to Bolick and Mocon, who have played their last game and are now to pursue their PBA dreams.

It could also be Tankoua’s final outing as he’s contemplating on accepting offers abroad after turning it down a year ago to chase another NCAA title this season.

“We all know Robert and Javee will be turning pros and there’s a chance that Donald is not returning anymore,” said San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez. “It’s tough winning a title with them playing, what more if they’re not here.

“It will really be hard finding their replacements, and it’s going to be really tough for us next year without them,” said Fernandez.

Fernandez said there is a chance though for Tankoua, the 2017 Finals MVP, to stay for one more season.

“Yes, there is a chance and we’re doing our best to convince him to change his mind and we really hope Donald stays,” he said.

Already, San Beda, which has a league-best 22 titles including 11 in the last 13 seasons, is grooming the likes of Clint Doliguez and prized rookie James Kuwekuteye as the possible successors to Bolick and Mocon.

The Lions also have two more foreign players in Toba Eugene and 2016 Finals MVP Arnaud Noah just in case Tankoua decides to leave.

“We’ve also begun our search in our Team B, which helped us prepare in the finals, with hopes of filling the big void. Hopefully, someone will step up and come in to take their place,” said Fernandez.
