Canlubang Amateur Open listup ongoing

MANILA, Philippines — Registration for the Canlubang Amateur Open ends on Sunday with another banner field featuring the country’s leading amateurs expected to slug it out in the 18th staging of the event on Oct. 3-5 at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club’s North and South courses in Laguna.

Last year’s men’s champion Paolo Wong is tipped to go for a repeat in the 54-hole Championship division against the likes of siblings Jolo and Jonas Magcalayo, Aniceto Mandanas, Paolo Barro while Nicole Abelar, Annyka Cayabyab and Mafy Singson are expected to dispute top honors in the distaff side.

Also on tap are the Classes A, B and C and ladies division to be played over 36 holes on Oct. 4-5.

The event is expected to draw more players heading to the weekend.
