MANILA, Philippines — National athlete Liza del Rosario and Nicco Olaivar topped the list of first center finalists as the 2018 Bowling World Cup competition unwrapped in 14 different keg centers.
Del Rosario carded a 10-game series of 2137 pinfalls at Coronado (Starlanes) to show the way for 23 other initial finalists in the ladies’ division.
Olaivar rolled 2581 in 12 games to pace the first 40 men’s finalists.
Another set of men’s and ladies’ finalists from the second center finals will advance to the national championship scheduled on Sept. 29 and 30 and Oct. 3 and 5 in three different venues – Coronado Lanes, Superbowl and Paeng’s Eastwood Bowl.
Rachelle Leon emerged as the No. 2 ladies’ center finalist with 1919, with Rochalle Munsayac taking third spot at 1850.
Scott Uy landed second in the men’s division with 2475, followed by veteran Raoul Miranda (2445), former national kegler Paulo Valdez (2422), Maurhic Padawan (2403), RJay Magana (2365)and Manny Amparo (2347).
