Latest shoot stuff up at Arms Show

MANILA, Philippines — Gun enthusiasts get the chance to see the latest in firearms and ammunition when the Defense and Sporting Arms Show holds its 26th edition beginning July 12 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

World shooting champ Jethro Dionisio, president of the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers, Inc. (AFAD), said AFAD exhibitors will launch their latest array of shoot equipment and paraphernalia during the five-day exhibit.

Held in partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), the DSAS will also conduct the PNP-Firearms Caravan to assist walk-in applicants of License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF), renewal of gun license and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR).

The PNP Firearms Caravan will continue processing applications for regular LTOPF, provisional LTOPF firearms registration and renewal, and PTCFOR.

The services offered by the Caravan personnel are online applications for LTOPF, on-site applications for PTCFOR and LTOPF, LTOPF and firearms registration card printing, neuro-psychiatric (interview and exam), PNP Directorate for Intelligence (DI) clearance, drug test clearance, PNP Finance, NBI clearance, notary public and cedula.

Aside from free seminars on responsible gun ownership, firearms safety handling, and martial arts, the DSAS visitors will be treated to a series of activities during the gun show, including daily raffle of P10,000 worth of gift certificates and other special prizes.
