PBA opens ‘Passport on Wheels’ in Libis, Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — The “Passport on Wheels” rolled off at the PBA office in Libis, Quezon City yesterday with PBA personalities, fans and friends availing themselves of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ project held in coordination with the pro league.
More than 500 persons have been served in the day-long undertaking held to help de-clog jam in the DFA’s regular passport centers.
“It warms the heart nakatulong tayo kahit papaano. Malaking tulong ito sa mga fans ‘di na sila mahihirapan mag-pa-schedule sa pagkuha ng passport,” said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial.
Among those who showed up were former Alaska Milk star Bong Hawkins and his two kids, Magnolia top official Rene Pardo’s daughter Claudine Pardo-Abaca, Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia, Meralco assistant mentor Luigi Trillo and former player Nic Belasco.
Up next in the PBA’s outreach program is a bloodletting session at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on July 7. The league conducts the program before a special double-header pitting TNT KaTropa versus Rain or Shine then San Miguel Beer opposite Magnolia.
