Ngo-Ty bags overall trophy in Mazda-Forest Hills Invitational
MANILA, Philippines — Lawrence Ngo and Karl Ty scored an 89 in aggregate format then combined for a 50 in best ball to capture the Mazda-Forest Hills 17th Invitational golf crown with a 139 at the Forest Hills Golf and Country Club in Antipolo recently.
Jerome Ngo and BJ Cadayong assembled a 219 to capture the overall gross team trophy in the four-day tournament, which drew more than 400 participants.
Ronnie Littaua and partner Eric Villarica pooled a 123 (75-48) to edge Blue Recto and Rafael Ante, who had a 121 (80-41), for the Class A crown while the father-and-son tandem of Dante and Willie Maldia topped Class B with a 132 (82-50), nipping Joel Agbanlog and Bogs de Soto, who had a 131 (78-53).
The Elmer Ngo-Nestor Quinsay tandem topped Class C while Karina Escano-Mabel Salivio ruled Class D of the event presented by Megaforce Security Services, Golforce Inc., Escala Tagaytay and Life Oil/Manila Nature’s Link.
Nico Sevilla scored 139 points in System 36 format to beat Alex Ng and Arnel Paras for top honors in the Sponsors division of the tournament backed by Cherrylume/Mileage Asia, Group Management and Dev. Corp., Fatima University Medical Center, Mizuno-Mastersports, Pinnacle Machinery, YSA Skin Care, Inquirer Golf and Business Mirror.
