MANILA, Philippines — Petron survived a tough Cocolife side, battling back from 1-2 set down and pulling through in a back-and-forth decider, 25-14, 23-25, 15-25, 25-14, 15-13, to zero in on the top spot in the Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan last night.
Lindsay Stalzer came through with back-to-back hits to shatter a 13-all count in the fifth, including a brilliant drop shot that ended the thrilling match in the penultimate playdate of the classification phase of the tournament organized by the Philippne Superliga.
Petron thus bounced back from its shock loss to Sta. Lucia to finish with a 9-1 mark. The Blazer Spikers, however, will have to wait for the result of F2 Logistics-Foton being played at presstime to determine their final standing.
