Southwoods, Pradera bets dominate Jungolf Interclub
MANILA, Philippines - Host Manila Southwoods and Pradera Verde of Pampanga scooped up the most victories in the recent Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines-Philippine Airlines Interclub Jungolf tournament.
Manila Southwoods ruled the centerpiece Division 1 team event and added four wins in the individual competitions while Pradera Verde took the Division 2 team crown on top of five individual wins.
David Guangko, Bernice Ilas, Sofia Chabon and Laurea Duque pooled 486 points at the Southwoods Legends course to repulse Pradera Verde in Division 1 play. Aguinaldo checked in third at 459.
But Pradera Verde rebounded in Division 2 with a 1-3 finish. Annyka Cayabyab, Riane Malixi, Zachary Castro and Miko Granada pooled 475 points for a runaway victory in the event sponsored by PAL, Philippine Golf Foundation, Ayala Land, Inc. and Manila Southwoods.
Collecting individual plums for Pradera were Ha Tae-won in boys 13-14, Luis Ballesteros in boys 7-8, Sean Granada in boys 11-12, Miko Granada in boys 9-10 and Rianne Malixi in girls 9-10.
Southwoods took four through Ryan Monsalve and Ilas in the boys and girls 15-18, Venice Tiamsic in girls 7-8 and Andie Ng in girls 6 and under.
Aguinaldo claimed two wins courtesy of Laia Barro in girls 13-14 and Burberry Zhang in girls 11-12 while Emilio Hernandez won the 6 and under boys trophy for Orchard.
Next up for the jungolfers are the eliminations for IMG Junior World spots in various courses.
