Jets, Eagles stamp mark on SPI 15s rugby league

MANILA, Philippines - Hapon Jets and Alabang Eagles fashioned out lopsided victories over their respective rivals in an auspicious start in the SPI 15s League.

With the Clark Jets and the Manila Hapons joining forces, they easily beat the Albay Vulcans, 57-14, in the plate division, while the Eagles posted a 36-0 shutout win over the Manila Nomads in the cup competition.

After a successful 2016 season, the Eagles continued to show their hunger for silverware in the Philippine Rugby Football Union domestic 15s league. 

In other results, the Alabang Ibons edged the Mavericks-A, 27-22, in the cup division while the Manila Carabaos defeated the Mavericks-B, 27-18, in the plate competition.

Meanwhile, Round 2 starts at 12 noon at the Southern Plains field in Canlubang, Laguna.
