Racal eyes fourth straight vs Wangs

1 p.m. – Cafe France vs JRU

MANILA, Philippines - Racal tries to extend its win run to four as it takes on Wangs Ballclub even as Café France and Jose Rizal U clash for a share of second place in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig today.

Though the Tile Masters practically coasted to easy wins in their first three games, coach Jerry Codiñera said that his side needs more seasoning as they slowly adapt to the style of play in the league.

“The team is still adjusting but hopefully with these victories, we’ll be able to adapt to the league’s brand of play,” said Codiñera.

That makes Racal wary as it clashes with Wangs Basketball at 11 a.m. with Codiñera stressing the need for his wards to toughen up on defense.

The Tile Masters will bank on Sidney Onwubere, Kent Salado and Rey Nambatac as they go up against the likes of Marlon Gomez and Rey Publico, the Couriers’ 1-2 punch.

Meanwhile, the Bakers and the Bombers tangle at 1 p.m. with both teams out to join the Tanduay Rhum Masters at 3-1.

Bakers coach Egay Macaraya also seeks to see his wards clamp down on defense, especially against the streak shooters of JRU.

JRU coach Vergel Meneses, meanwhile, is hoping to bounce back from their 61-69 loss to AMA Online Education last Monday.
