MANILA, Philippines - Don Bosco-Makati pulled off a 61-58 victory over Ateneo in a duel of top teams in Week 8 of the Milcu Got Skills Hard To Guard 13-under basketball tournament at the Enderun Colleges gym.
Manuel Robles came away with 18 points and seven rebounds to power Don Bosco to a 6-1 record while clinching the A Game Player of the Week honors.
Don Bosco also ended Ateneo’s six-game streak in the league sponsored by Milcu and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
Meanwhile, Gian Baclaan had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead San Sebastian to a 54-46 romp over Xavier School in the other Week 8 game of the tournament also supported by Basketball TV, Gerry’s Grill, Gatorade, Clyde Shoe Cleaner, LGR, SLAM, Rain or Shine, Honda, Coach Athletic Trainers Tape, Secret Fresh, Mighty Sports, Nousha Kebabs and Barbeque, FMR Bus Services, and Patricio’s Online Sneaker Source.
In Week 7, Sean Quinto shot 12 points as University of Santo Tomas routed Sacred Heart Academy Pasig, 55-24, while Joseph Espiritu made 17 points and eight steals as La Salle College Antipolo trounced Travellers, 53-34.
Lorenz Ang sizzled with 28 points as San Sebastian overcame La Salle Zobel, 69-64, while Ateneo, drawing 10 points from Enzo Buenaseda, beat La Salle Greenhills, 45-25.
In Week 6, Jobe Clemente posted 22 points and 13 rebounds as Travellers blasted Kings Montessori School, 60-47.
